Why?
For families and friends to gather together for prayer and fellowship
Every year, we at Little Flower Educational Child Care celebrate the Solemnity of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, the Patroness of our school with our Blessing of the Roses Family Picnic and Drawing providing an opportunity for families and friends to gather together for prayer and fellowship. We conclude with the opportunity drawing which is one of our major fundraising events of the year which helps us with the costs for operating our school. The main highlights of this event include:
Prayer Service
To begin the event with our Lord’s blessing, the students from Little Flower Educational Child Care and their families welcome Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament with songs of love and worship. Families and our school as a whole then receive a blessing and blessed rose petals to remind them of their patroness, the Little Flower, Saint Therese of Lisieux, asking her for her prayers throughout the school year.
Picnic Lunch
We invite our families and friends to enjoy the picnic BBQ through a free-will offering and to spend time enjoying fellowship with one another. This is an opportunity for us to come together as one family.
Opportunity Drawing
Opportunity Drawing tickets are distributed in August and sold until we gather for the Blessing of the Roses where the drawing will take place at the closing of the event. We ask you to sell as many tickets as possible to make this big fundraiser of the year successful. You may always pick up more tickets from the Front Office. Invite other family and friends to join the cause for Little Flower Educational Child Care. We would also be happy to mail tickets out to you. Simply contact us with your name and address and how many books you would like to have.
We hope to see you there as we make this beautiful annual tradition a treasure of memories for our children and one more way that we promote our mission to “Educate with the Mind and Heart of Christ.”
